All that being said, the Tosa Inu is a beautiful dog. I think everyone should focus less on this breed being used for what it was bred for, and should focus more on the fact that the pure blooded Tosa Inu is disappearing. From what I’ve read there are only 350 pedigree Tosas left in the Kochi Region, with only a few hundred more elsewhere in Japan. There are registered Tosas in the United States, but like many other foreign dog breeds introduced to the USA (German Shepards and Rottweilers for example) they are quickly becoming a different breed entirely. Most American bred Tosa Inus end up 30-40kg heavier than the pure bloodlines that are in Japan. This isn’t a matter of canine obesity, either… it’s more likely due to the bloodline being further altered via breeding with other Mastiff lines. Regardless, it’s a shame to see one of Japan’s National Treasures fade away and be bred out of existence.

Do you truly belive that the dogs like to fight? NO… it’s actually that you animal abusing pricks torture them enough to make them hate everything that comes near them. What a nice life they must have.

May the devil rip your hearts out bit by bit. Make you feel some of the pain you inflict on animals. I also hope the animal societies catch up with you all before you take any more lifes. You’re only as good as the murderers and rapists that you will one day be sharing a jail cell with. You don’t deserve a life of your own.

It’s a sad thing I see here. People advocating the rights of animals and a decreace in violence are trying to get their point accross by threatening violent death on other people. Where is the sense? And how on Earth did an article about dogfighting open the floodgates for racial slurs and hate speeches? Shit like this only shows how little people have changed over the centuries.

I don’t see where in this article about dogfighting in Japan that the mean ol’ white man was mentioned, so I can only assume that you’re trying to antagonize and give yourself a good hard erection of an ego boost by takin’ them honkeys down a notch…in a comment on a dogfighting article. Right.
