As Christmas decorations have been common in the capital for quite some time now, it’s not really surprising to see fried festivities now forcibly pushed to the fore,
with premium picks,
as well as more basic barrel-based buffets available.
All cleverly coupled with commercials that are almost as sickly as what’s being sold.*
And of course Christmas simply wouldn’t be Christmas (even though it’s not even nearly Christmas) without the practically traditional practice of cosplaying colonels.
*This is last year’s commercial as the current one hasn’t been illegally uploaded yet, although rest assured they are very similar, with grinning and grease the main ingredients.
Of course, you know that Kentucky Fried Chicken has become a Japanese Christmas staple because the Colonel resembles ol’ St. Nick, and a good many confuse the words “Santa” and “Sanders”.
Really Headbanger? Didn’t know that, about the Santa Sanders thing.
KFC sucks anyway. Popeye’s is the bomb!

when I was in kobe for christmas, there was a 3 hour wait for premium chicken – insane
I’m just culturally tuned to the Coca Cola Santa image, with his jolly fat stomach and beard. I just can’t see the Colonel as Santa no matter that he wears the suit. I guess KFC beat Coke to the punch in Japan and made the Colonel the Face of Santa over there, right?
