Modern Japanese apartments may well be largely light and less than lacking in the latest goods and gadgetry, but their considerably older and less cared for cousins are often dark and decidedly deficient in devices,
with the more basic even boasting barely enough room to dangle a similarly decaying doll.
There's also the option of following Tokyo Times by full feed RSS, and now Twitter too.

You should see my farm house in rural Japan. Talk about lacking gadgetry I just got off isdn a year ago.
