Michael Jackson mural

Presumably just like the rest of the world, the Japanese media’s reaction to Michael Jackson’s untimely death is currently making the coverage of Princess Diana’s demise seem somewhat succinct — restrained even. A situation that at the moment shows no signs of abating either, especially considering all the speculation and suspicion surrounding the singer’s life and last hours.

And now, at least for residents of Nakano-ku, there’s not even any escape when out for a wander or on the way to work, due to the appearance of some no doubt well meant,

but not necessarily welcomed by the neighbours,

work.

(huge thanks to Richard for the photos)

That graffiti… you can’t Beat It! It’s a Thriller.

….I’m Bad, I know it, but I just want to Heal The World. I may not be Billie Jean, but I do know that Man In The Mirror, with my faults both Black And White. I maybe a Smooth Criminal with words, but I just want people to Leave Me Alone, or I may just Scream. The problem is You Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough. The sooner people understand that We Are The World, maybe only then will I get my way with Dirty Diana.

You should see the solid silver statue of Michael Jackson by the artist Billa Dhand on his website.
