I’m not familiar with Japanese far-right politics – do you know what he was saying?
Do they have real influence?
He repeatedly banged on about the uniqueness of Japanese culture, people wasting their time studying English, the importance of Yasukuni Shrine, and his hatred of the U.S. military bases.
I’m happy to say though that despite his chosen spot being arguably the busiest part of the city (Shibuya crossing), there were only a handful of people listening. And included in that number were me and another equally bemused foreigner.
As for influence Nacente, I’d say next to none. Not that I’m am expert on such matters. I have read about the far-right’s links with the Yakuza, but whilst the yakuza do undoubtedly have influence in certain areas, that doesn’t automatically mean that the far-tight enjoy the same benefits.

From what I am told, very few people, if any, pay attention to what these people say. Japanese people seem to treat them the same way they treat extreme otaku… that is to say that they ignore them and just let them do whatever they want, even if they are sometimes loud and obnoxious. Most people who watch them are just gawking in curiousity, heh.

Yeah i can agree with him for the reason why he hate the US base, they butt into everything, but the US is problily what thats keeping Japan safe for the time being.
