Quite how less crap the camera on the new iPhone 4 is I can currently only read about, as my pre-ordered handset is presumably still being produced, but hopefully, along with the added help of a few apps, it will produce noticeably better results.
In the meantime, however, my trusty 3G still allows me to capture, at least to a passable degree, day to day scenes — moments when the dSLR isn’t being carried, or is simply too cumbersome.
Such as during saunters around the suburbs.

A trip to the supermarket.

Coming home after a long night.

Possibly after further footballing disappointments.

Or sitting. Silently. In the sun.

And, perhaps not so unexpectedly, coming across discarded pieces of porn.

I really like these iPhone pictures. Something different. The statue looks very relaxed!
I thought the Japan soccer team play in Blue. Are they wearing red because of the flag colors?
Thanks! I must admit I like the experimentation involved with iPhone photography. It somehow allows for a different approach.
Oh, and those fans are Korean. Hence the red tops.
Lee, I can attest to the vastly superior quality of the camera on the iPhone 4. I’ve been using it now for about a week, and am impressed! While sadly lacking in basic controls that even the most rudimentary pocket-sized point-and-shoot has, it’s still way ahead of the 3G, so I’m sure you’ll be plenty happy.
Keep your eyes peeled for an iOS4 update (there had better be one soon, Apple!), as the software can be pretty squirrelly. More often than not, photos I take with the camera app directly (and frequently other photo apps) don’t appear in the Photo Album right away unless I exit the Camera/Photo Album, return to the Home Screen, and then re-enter the Photo Album. Additionally, deleting photos sometimes results in a black square replacing the image thumbnail in the Photo Album, until I exit said Photo Album and go back in.
Cheers for the info. That’s excellent news! A big improvement on the 3G is just what I was hoping for. As it turns out, mine should, all being well, arrive tomorrow, so I’ll be able to give it a whirl myself.
Bit disappointed to hear about the iOS4 problems (I haven’t bothered updating my 3G), but like you say, they’ll hopefully be ironed out very soon. Certainly hope so anyway.
Hey Lee, I like your DSLR photos. Would you mind telling me what equipment you use?
Thanks Cinton.
Yeah, no problem. Camera-wise I use a Nikon D300. And the lenses I use are the Nikkor 85mm f/1.4, 80-200mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4 and 35mm f/2.
The 85mm gets by far the most use. It’s an absolute belter!
Hi Lee,
I love this series! Very nice.
Thank you!
I always have my phone with me, so this series will definitely be continuing.
Great! I’m looking forward to it.
Thanks Lee. Nice set of gear.
Great photos Lee
Did you used some Iphone app when taking the pics? Just wondering about the kind of dark border effect. ^^
Thanks phossil.
Yes, I used the BestCamera app on them. That’s been my favourite app, along with TiltShift Generator, for a long time now.
what sup with the last pic lmao
