Thankfully the title doesn’t in any way refer to a new and unpleasant take on that 1970’s pub favourite, chicken in a basket, but is instead a nod to a dog, quite literally, in a basket.

Tokyo Times is owned and run by me, Lee Chapman, a long-term resident of Tokyo who arrived in 1998 for ‘a year or two’, and, for a myriad of reasons, stayed put.
Japan means many things to many people, but Tokyo Times is how I see it. The places. The people. The day-to-day situations. All of it shot using a Leica, a Nikon and a selection of lenses.
My photographs have appeared in the Guardian and Japan Times, plus numerous magazines and books. Should you wish to use any, or simply ask a question, you can get in touch with me here.

Yup, I agree with Matt. It is shouting: Help, help, I sense radiation too.
Not sure about the radiation, but it does seem like a look for help…
Alternatively, it could be saying “Poor human, walking around like a sucker. Shame….”
Haha, I never though of it in that way!
“A little privacy, please?”
Yes, it was probably changing into another outfit!
…looks more like a trolley to me. :\
