Rats aren’t uncommon sights in Tokyo, and giant, evil-looking crows are everywhere, but unfortunately this is the nearest I’ll ever come to seeing an urban fox.

Tokyo Times is owned and run by me, Lee Chapman, a long-term resident of Tokyo who arrived in 1998 for ‘a year or two’, and, for a myriad of reasons, stayed put.
Japan means many things to many people, but Tokyo Times is how I see it. The places. The people. The day-to-day situations. All of it shot using a Leica, a Nikon and a selection of lenses.
My photographs have appeared in the Guardian and Japan Times, plus numerous magazines and books. Should you wish to use any, or simply ask a question, you can get in touch with me here.

What a great little find. Looks like he’s been eating McDonalds.
Yeah, it was a very pleasant surprise. There’s some interesting graffiti to be found in Tokyo these days.
Very very cool shot!
Cheers! It was great to find it, especially as just like haikyo, it may not be about for much longer.
Love the drawing; here in the UK the foxes are of course living in the big cities; we had one on top of our garden shed in the middle of Ealing (West London) a couple of time. Should have turned the shed into an Inari shrine with real foxes instead of statues.
Now that would be something.
Sadly never saw an urban fox when I was living in the UK. To have then in your garden must be a real treat. Well, provided you don’t keep chickens I suppose.
Haha funny you should say that Lee! Urban foxes are a real opinion divider here in London. Some love em, some think they’re vermin! Love your picture though… Mr Fox looks like he’s just woken up after a night on the town (and a late night McD)!
Nice shot!
^^
Thanks!
So cute!!
The fox’s stomach must be full of French Fries or even Big Mac!!
Yeah, the most urban of urban foxes.
