Rainy season prayers answered?

After an admittedly long wait, this priest’s prayers have been answered, and the official end of rainy season was announced yesterday. But that said, he’d better hold on to his umbrella, or at least make another call, as more rain is forecast — both today and tomorrow.

the photo looked irony, with the ancient background and the mobile phone..
    nice catch!

    • Cheers! Yeah, it struck me as quite an interesting contrast. Not something you get to see, or at least photograph, everyday.

I really like the contrasts in black and white as well as the contrasts of old and new. Great photo all around!

    • Cheers! It was certainly interesting to see him standing there. Like you said, it makes for quite a contrast.

  4. Great shot, I do like umbrellas in street photography; the good thing is that in Japan they even use umbrellas when the sun is out. But I do hate those long sleeved gloves some women wear against the sun, it does remind me of lepers :-)

    • Thanks! Yeah, I like umbrellas too.

That’s funny about the long gloves. Never thought about it that way, but sure I will from now on!

  5. If you imagine this fellow in a dark business suit he would look like any other salaryman chatting on his phone. Contrasted against the temple, it would still make for an interesting photo but in a different way.
