About
Oh, you’re joking. Not one of those tiresome mock question and answer things?
Yes, sorry.
Right then, if we must. What’s this Tokyo Times business then?
A site that started out as, well, I don’t quite know what it started out as – except being a bit rubbish. Now it’s arguably a little less rubbish and consists of pictures of everyday — and sometimes not so everyday — life in Japan.
So who is ‘yours truly’?
I’m Lee Chapman. A fella from England who has been living in Tokyo since 1998.
Is that it?
Erm, Yeah, I’m afraid so. After living in Japan for so long, the whole self-introduction thing has worn a bit thin. Hence this question and answer debacle you are bravely ploughing through.
However if for some reason you desperately want more information, I can be emailed via the ‘contact’ link above. Similarly, if you wish to offer me highly paid work or simply ply me with gifts, I’ll be equally glad to hear from you.
Is it a popular site then?
Rather surprisingly, yes it is. Not in a Yahoo! sense of course, but for a blog that doesn’t cover politics or porn, it does pretty well traffic wise. A stunning defeat in the 2005 Bloggies helped significantly raise the profile of the site, and since then Tokyo Times has featured in Web User magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle and perhaps most notably, on the BBC website.
Right, is that it then? All done with your petty boasts and meagre amounts of information?
Thankfully, yes.
